BABA SUWE LOSES #25M COCAINE CASE APPEAL ! May Go To Supreme Court

The hope of popular Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina better known as Baba Suwe to claim the #25 million damages awarded to him by a Magistrate Court, against the National Drugs and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) was dashed on Friday 31st, May, 2013 when an Appeal Court sitting in Lagos struck out the Appeal by the comic actor, Baba Suwe. The anti-narcotics agency won an appeal against the ruling of Lagos High Court over a 25million naira compensation in favour of Baba Suwe at Federal Appeal Court, Igbo Osere Lagos.
The case, which has been on since 2011 and handling by Lawyer Bamidele Aturu finally hit the rock. Recall that after mart of accusing the actor wrongly by NDLEA for drug trafficking in 2011, High court gave judgement that NDLEA to compensate him with payment of N25million which has since suffered a setback. The case, which was to be heard in the court of appeal, was unable to hold then and it was adjourned till April 18 due to the court's 'busy schedule'. At the next adjourned day, the case heard and argued but not in favour of Baba Suwe.
Justice Yetunde Idowu awarded the sum of N25million to Baba Suwe after the NDLEA held the actor for more than two weeks on the suspicion of ingesting substance thought to be narcotics. The anti-narcotics agency challenged the judgement at the appeal court and this seemed to work for them as Appeal Court said NDLEA not to pay Baba Suwe a dime. This was the information we got as at the time of filing this report last week. However, information from another sources revealed that Baba Suwe may take the case to Supreme Court. Stay glue with this blog as we bring to your notice the new development of the case.
