SAHEED OSUPA, SALAWA ABENI IN MUSICAL WAR

Oh don’t be carried away with the caption, King of Fuji Music, Dr Saheed Osupa and Queen of Waka, Salawa Abeni are not in any rift or beefing with each other which could have informed the above headline, but it was indeed bumper to bumper or let us call it a fun-filled atmosphere at Alolo Restaurant in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos penultimate Thursday November 24 2011 as the music connoisseurs put legs in the same trousers to electrify guests at the venue thus making their fans proud of them.
The event, Ogbon tarigi hi nolly Yoruba, organized by a Lagos soft-sell magazine to celebrate Nigerian icons who are putting in their best to make sure that the Nigerian Movie industry stands out among other formidable film-making countries. Supported by HiTV and Hotel Laveronique, we gathered, the monthly event had in attendance the likes of Queen Salawa Abeni, Kelvin Ikeduba, Lola Idije, Gbenga Adeyinka, where the amiable fuji vocalist King Saheed Osupa was the musician of the day. But despite the fact that Salawa was one of the awardees, the Waka music crooner, we gathered, could not bear it when the King of fuji was dishing out what he does for a living where boobs could not be differentiated from buttocks.

All of a sudden the ageless and ever bubbly singer got herself on stage firing alongside Osupa. Interestingly, Queen Salawa enlivened the night by letting the people understand that she’s still intact.
