Glory, glory, Halleluiah, that was the melodious song on the lips of fans, friends and family of this vivacious actress Mercy Johnson last week Saturday as she was finally relegated from the league of Nigerian celebrity spinsters, as she said I do to London Big boy, Prince Odi at Christ Embassy Church, Oregun Lagos. The event which was scheduled to start by 10:00am, we gathered, did not commence at the appropriate time due to the environmental sanitation exercise which was observed by Lagosians on the day. But at exactly 12:00 noon, the groom came to the church, before the arrival of the bride in her gorgeous white gown. That is not even new to many, but the most painful aspect of it which interested yours faithfully was one white man whose name is JOSEPH, and whom we gathered was held up exactly at the time the new couple arrived at the reception of the event that took place at popular event center 10 Degree, Ikeja Lagos where all roads that lead to Oregun Ikeja were blocked with cars and guests who probably wanted to witness the event. As Mercy arrived the event amidst tight security, she couldn’t get inside as the men in black were flagrantly bouncing people, which occasioned the endless traffic jam and probably when the paparazzi set their camera lenses to get the shots of the couple, the white man we scooped was out of patience and mistakenly hit one of the guests’ cars which made them fume and dealt some blows on him, as a result of claiming his right when he was guilty of the offence. Joseph, we were told, refused to repair the car, but thank God for the intervention of good Samaritans who came to his rescue and settled the case.
